Puncheur’s 2nd birthday
It’s been two years this November since Puncheur opened its doors.
What started as a pop-up cafe and roastery has become a fully fledged operation providing caffeine and beans seven days a week to locals and visitors to Noosa. It’s also added a wholesale service, online business and event space in that time.
“It still feels like we are new and there’s still so much more to do and achieve,” Justin says of the two-year anniversary.
He attributes the growth of the business to the hard work put in by the whole team and complement skills he and Jodie bring to the business.
For Jodie the cafe has been a natural extension of her passion for good coffee and design.
“We began as a pop up coffee bar, purely coffee and a few pastries,” she says.
“We took on a six-month lease and were able to serve takeaway coffee and roast our coffee for sale also. I fitted it out with what worked at the time. I was well aware of the costs and wanted to play it safe, just in case things didn’t go so well. Nothing was permanent with the mini fitout but we both agreed that the Junction needed a great coffee shop and we were going to be just that.”
Two years later and the crew has expanded operating hours, days and added a small but quality food and drinks menu to its lineup including Bagel Boy bagels from Brisbane, brekkie wraps, Tanglewood pastries and toasties and Mamma O vegan treats.
